National Expert Consensus Symposium on Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) Was Held in Jiangyin

On November 5, 2020, the National Expert Consensus Symposium on Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP), organized by the Working Committee on Clinical Transfusion Management of Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion (CSBT) was undertaken by Jiangsu LIBO Medicine Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and held in Jiangyin. Nearly one hundred experts from the blood transfusion industry nationwide attended the symposium.

At the opening ceremony, Yuping Chen, President of LIBO Medicine, delivered a welcoming speech and warmly welcomed the experts; Professor Jiwu Gong, Chairman of the Working Committee on Clinical Transfusion Management of CSBT, Director of Blood Transfusion Department of National Center for Clinical Laboratories and Director of Beijing Hospital’s Blood Transfusion Department, gave a direct and meaningful speech, underlining the need to establish a normalized expert consensus on PRP preparation, storage & transportation and application processes, and announced that the compilation of Expert Consensus on PRP Clinical Application Guide would be initiated.

 

     

 

During the morning session, Professor Guiqiu Shan, Director of Blood Transfusion Department of General Hospital of Southern Theatre Command of PLA and Vice Chairman of Blood Transfusion Management Committee of the PLA, elaborated the Expert Consensus draft on PRP Preparation and Storage & Transportation, which came into being on the basis of extensive application research and practical experience, with reference to relevant domestic and overseas literatures, domestic research, as well as numerous consultations with domestic experts in Blood Transfusion Medicine. The experts at the symposium actively expressed their opinions, and an initial consensus was reached after a heated discussion.

 

 

The meeting theme of the afternoon session was precise detection and precise blood transfusion. Director Jiwu Gong announced a launch plan for the compilation of 500 Intractable Blood Type Cases and called on all experts to contribute cases, with the aim of promoting the precise detection of intractable blood types and irregular antibodies in clinical blood transfusion. Subsequently, Professor Zhenqing Feng and Qi Tang Ph.D of NHC Key Laboratory of Antibody Techniques, and Hongjun Gao Ph.D of LIBO Medicine all delivered relevant reports.
