The 2nd Plenary Meeting of the First Editorial Board of Asia-Pacific Journal of Blood Types and Genes was Held in Jiangyin
On April 24th 2018, the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the First Editorial Board of Asia-Pacific Journal of Blood Types and Genes’ (APJGB) was ceremoniously held in Jiangyin, which was sponsored by Jiangsu LIBO Medicine Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
In the region of one hundred experts attended the meeting, who came from more than twenty countries and regions, including China, The United States, Britain, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Japan, Iran, Mexico, Romania, Austria, Taiwan and Hong Kong et al. These highly respected scientists were welcomed by leaders from the Science and Technology Bureau, the Economic and Information Commission and Jiangyin’s High-Tech Zone and Biological/Pharmaceutical Industrial Park.
Mr. Zhijun Zhao (Deputy Director of the Jiangyin National High-tech Industrial Development Zone’s Administrative Committee) made the introductory speech. Then the Associate Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Baohua Qian and Mr. Rongguo Cui (Deputy Secretary and Head of Organization Department of the Jiangyin Municipal Committee of CPC) both made speeches respectively. Then all attendees took a group photo.
In the second part of the meeting, new members of the First Editorial Board of APJBG were announced. Then, the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Daowang Fan announced and rewarded the editorial board members, including Prof. Siegfried Janz, Tianhong Miao, Jiangcun Yang, Maohong Bian and Xiangyan Huang, for their outstanding contributions to the development of the APJBG in 2017. After the awards, Associate Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Zhenqing Feng made the APJBG working report for last year, describing its successes and suggestions for 2018 and the broader future. Next, Chief International Science Consultant Prof. Siegfried Janz made a much appreciated speech on “Challenges for Journals in the Digital Era.” Then all the members entered a lively and unhindered discussion how to improve our national and international recognition and visibility, at which time professor Feng took the time to answer specific questions on how to improve the journal’s impact scores. All members then continued to discuss how to promote the submission of manuscripts, improve the quality of manuscripts and made their own suggestions for the future success of the APJBG
In the end, the editor-in-chief Prof. Daowang Fan gave a concluding remark. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the attendees for both their contributions and attendance, and expressed his gratitude to everyone in completing the difficult task of launching the APJGB (which is believed to be the first of its kind in China), and wished it well on the road to success.
